Email Notification Using Phidgets
by
Carman Neustaedter

This project takes the metaphor of everyday postal mail to provide a physical delivery of e-mail. Its main apparatus consists of a nerf dart gun inside of a box made to look like a postal outlet mailbox. Each nerf disc bullet symbolizes a piece of email. For each new piece of mail received, a nerf disc is fired from within the outlet box. The email notifier uses a servo motor to change the horizontal direction of the nerf dart gun and a second servo motor to pull the trigger of the dart gun.

Documentation on the phidgets is available here.
