This project allows users to collaborate over long distances with a simple drawing program. The emphasis of the project was a Groupware Widget to provide a Radar Overview of the entire shared workspace. Users also have the option to make their own personal workspace private by disallowing others from seeing its contents in the overview. The radar overview facilitates tight and loose coupling and provides a global awareness of others. The project also entailed creating other groupware components such as telepointers, but were not the focus of the project.
Many of the ideas for the radar overview were obtained from papers by Saul Greenberg and Carl Gutwin. The privacy meter was a suggestion by Saul in class.
